“C.A.N.” Plan Focused on Middle Zone

On July 23th, USC American Academy in China leads Summer Studio & Exhibition about the cooperating program “C.A.N.” Plan in Shenzhen.

SED has paid much attention to it and joined it. In this plan, C represents Culture, A represents Agriculture, N represents Nature, it means to examine how the “middle zone” is growing.

“During the rapid process of urbanism, the “middle zone” between city and village is an important problem that China is facing.” Mr. Ma has mentioned in his project original intention. “C.A.N.” Plan Lushan Project’s launch provides possibility for exploring the middle zone.

The relationship between city and countryside is changing for now. How the life style of middle zone will achieve sustainable development will become an experimental and suggestive task. Agri-urbanism of “C.A.N.” Plan initiates SED to reflect on landscape design.
